A Real Kick

My wife, 4-year-old son, and I were walking down Mass. Ave in Cambridge and stopped to look at two proud-looking motorcycle cops parked in front of Keefe Funeral Home. Our son looked up at the imposing figures, who were fitted with gleaming over-the-calf boots, and said "nice boots." One officer beamed and thanked him for noticing. Our son then followed with, "My mom has a pair just like them," to which the deflated but self-effacing officer said, "You really know how to hit a guy where it hurts."

Nice black cowboy boots sighting at the supermarket—a rare weekend day for me not wearing cowboy boots. But, the cold took over today, and I needed something more than Alka-Setzer Cold Plus to keep me going. Harness boot sighting tonight, but the guy was not the kind who'd notice another guy in boots.

Most of the morning was spent holding my head. Did get out for a late-ish lunch by T (wearing duck Carhartt coat with hood, sunglasses, listening to new music on my phone). I'm a bit better.
