In the morning, I walked into a store behind three scrawny young men who arrived in beat up pick-up with a Confederate flag raised on the back of the cab. One was wearing cowboy boots; the other two, loggers.

AM started out great with a nice sighting (photos didn't work) of a large motorcop at the next bus stop from mine (yes, I walked down to get a better view). Wait--he was in the wrong jurisdiction!

Sighting on AM commute: I got off a crowded bus to get a less crowded one where city motorcops had set up a "no turn on red" zone. As the less crowded bus inched by stopped driver, one motorcop lowered himself into her window and his bullrump adjusted itself several times. A bicyclist nearly ran into it. I've tried camera through dirty bus window, and it just doesn't work. I hate when a sighting like this happens in the morning--the memory distracts me all day (and, I've got a lot to do before I can go away). LOL at myself.

Interesting AM commute. Packed bus gets cut off by a sub-compact car. So packed none of us fall. Walking from the stop to work, city cop on street cleaning duty gets out of his car with great breeches and boots almost to his knees. This is a first of a kind sighting for me, since breeches and boots are heretofore only seen on motor cops. Maybe he was having one of those "I've got to wear boots today." I understand.

Thanks to riders making their way to the Harley Rendezvous Classic 2008, there were lots of nice boot and leather sightings along the last half of my drive on the Mass. Pike and at the Lee service center and the first half of my ride on the Thruway and at the Pattersonville travel plaza.
