Day was amazing: 27th Annual National Peace Officers Memorial Day Service on the west lawn of the Capitol; weather (see the title); company, sightings, observations, and conversations were phenomenal and fun. Once, again, thanks to bullneck !

Travel was easy and uneventful. Some interesting biker leather sightings, but when you're driving 350 miles you can't slow down to take in a view. On the other hand, driving through a small town with a speed limit of 25, I did note a biker wearing brown cowboy boots.

Sightings: 1) Short guy in lizard cowboy boots in AM; 2) Lunch (turkey club with seasoned fries for $5.95): First, one of my town (settled 1630, a city in 1846) motorcycle cops with tall laced-top boots and no-stripe breeches ("Tommy," Italian, Brooklyn accent) came in, ordered, and walked around; then another of my town's motorcycle officers (Asian American with Boston's North Shore accent) with shorter boots (no lace at top) and dark blue striped breeches arrived. Don't care if the breeches or boots didn't match. Great sighting! Will have to go back more often ...

At a presentation today, I had the choice of eying the tall muscular thin cop in uniform or the short stocky suited "security officer/expert." Lots of fun thoughts about the latter.

Wednesday: Tolerable

A meeting in "The Square" yielded a nice sighting of black, fairly new, logger boots.

Sunday: Very Sunny

Brown Justin square-toe buckaroo cowboy boots with red tops, Wrangler blue jeans, black & white plaid flannel shirt, neutral Carhartt thermal T, black boxer briefs, usual Dickies socks.

Several great black logger boots sightings in my brief supermarket visit.

Saturday: Only Partly Cloudy

Chippewa firefighter boots (from Stompers), brown flannel-lined Carhartt jeans, black/tan/white plaid flannel Carhartt shirt, black thermal Carhartt T, black briefs (added black poly/merino bottoms in the evening), usual Dickies socks.

Terminally cute short young cop at the entrance to the concert. Lizard cowboy boots on a great-looking graying guy drinking champagne with his wife during intermission.

Friday: "Oh, the Weather Outside is Frightful"

The weather was good for Carhartt thermal and yellow rain gear sightings. Also, it was fun to wear my Carhartt extremes coveralls on the way home.

Thursday: Cold, Clear

Poland Springs delivery guy who stopped his truck in front of me and strutted out to close part of his truck; on the bus home, cop who strutted across the street at a left turn and nearly walked into the bus.
