Friday: Still Kinda Cold but Winds Abating
Off from work. Went to the mall. Didn't buy anything except lunch, but did enjoy the construction workers all over the place.
The biggest woof, however, goes to the cub (with tan work boots) I shared a bus and subway ride with.
Thursday, March 08, 2007
Thursday: Sunny but the Winds Got Nasty
Chippewa Crazy Horse work boots, navy plain front cords, thick stripe blue shirt, black thermal Carhartt longsleeve T, neutral Carhartt thermal bottoms, usual Dickies socks. So glad I wore the Carhartt thermal overpants and had two pairs of gloves with me.
Wednesday, March 07, 2007
More Than a Hump Day: Still Cold but not Deadly
Timberland PRO work boots, another pair of black Wrangler jeans, southwest inspired LL Bean flannel shirt, black polypropylene top & bottoms, another pair of white pouch briefs, usual Dickies socks. The Carhartt flannel-lined overpants in the morning again meant the bus was on time.
I got a cowboy boot sighting today.
Tuesday, March 06, 2007
Tuesday: Wind Chill Deadly
Chippewa Crazy Horse work boots, black Carhartt jeans, blue-green/white check thick weave Carhartt shirt, funny green polypropylene top & bottoms, white pouch briefs, usual Dickies socks, Carhartt Arctic flannel-lined over pants. Carhartt brown colored zip sweat shirt. Bark extreme Arctic Carhartt jacket. On the way home, thin police gloves under (under ... I like the way that sounds) furry leather police gloves. Oh yea, Carhartt metal roller belt.
In spite of the weather, the day was extremely warm. Started out with talk on the news about long underwear and later talk at work about ski masks (I have one of those somewhere, but I'm more likely to find a spandex, latex, or rubber one if I went looking). Then there was a hot looking daddy-type (probably younger than me, but who's counting the years) in cowboy boots and cowboy hat (straw -- felt, black, would have been my choice) and another pair of cowboy boots at work. Carhartt Arctic flannel-lined coveralls. Not to mention Chris Cagle photos from the Yahoo group "hotcowboys."
And, Word spell-checker at work, unlike yesterday, wasn't turned to Spanish instead of English-U.S. today!

Monday: Pleasant with Small Flurries, Getting Colder
Sunday, March 04, 2007
Sunday: Colder Than It Appeared
Saturday, March 03, 2007
Saturday: Warm!
Lucchese 2000 brown cowboy boots, brown Wrangler jeans, brown/white check Wrangler PBA shirt with tan collar, black long-sleeve Carhartt T, black briefs, usual Dickies socks.
Square toe cowboy boot sighting while leaving the mall. Conventional cowboy boot sighting in the supermarket (guy was good-looking, too!). Several pairs of serious black logger boots on seriously woofy men.
Warm enough for a NH trooper to wear a short sleeve shirt. Well, not that warm, but he thought it was.
Friday, March 02, 2007
Friday: Very Early Snow Turning to Cold Blowing Rain
L.L. Bean boots (complimented on them), navy thick wale cords, thick blue stripe shirt, black thermal Carhartt tops & bottoms, grey pouch briefs, previously worn socks (need to wash socks tomorrow).
Really lousy weather, although we didn't have to shovel today. Wet pants. Rubber rain gear. Busy for a Friday, but I am observant.
Thursday, March 01, 2007
Early Thursday: Just Like Yesterday -- Nice!
Black Timberland PRO work boots, black plain front cords, navy medium check shirt, navy light weight thermal top & bottoms, black pouch briefs, usual Dickies socks (new ones!).
Nice sightings of construction workers leaving their jobs this afternoon. Nice jeans, too!
Wednesday, February 28, 2007
Wednesday: More Melting & Pleasant
Carolina loggers, blue plain front cords, blue shirt, neutral Carhartt tops & bottoms, black pouch briefs, not-the-usual Dickies socks.
Tuesday, February 27, 2007
Tuesday: Melting, Sunny then Cloudy
Chippewa Crazy Horse work boots, brown flannel-lined Carhartt jeans, tan/black/white flannel Carharrt shirt, white T, black union suit, black boxer briefs, usual Dickies socks.
On the way back from getting lunch saw a guy I usually see in beat-up boots wearing new dark gold/caramel-like cowboy boots.
Monday, February 26, 2007
Monday: More Than a Dusting
Sunday, February 25, 2007
Sunday: Kinda Mild, Sun Then Cloudy
Black Nocona elephant and deerhide cowboy boots, Wrangler blue jeans, Carhartt navy work shirt, black Carhartt thermal top & bottoms, black briefs, usual Dickies socks.
Tan cowboy boots sighting on a good-looking guy going into an antiques store.
Saturday, February 24, 2007
Saturday: Sunny, Chilly
Friday, February 23, 2007
Friday: Blanket of Real Snow, Sun, Getting Colder
The mid-day sun had a lot of us smiling, including the big hunky construction workers I let pass on a narrow sidewalk. The biggest one was in the rear; he said with a smile, thank you, and I returned the greeting.
Thursday, February 22, 2007
Thursday: Still Cold but Nice, Forecast Isn't
Wednesday, February 21, 2007
Wednesday: Still Melting
Most of my boot sightings were much like mine.
Tuesday, February 20, 2007
Tuesday: Much Warmer
Ice melting. Warm enough that the stereotypically studly UPS guy at my bus stop on the way home wasn't wearing a coat -- just the long sleeve shirt and pants....
Monday, February 19, 2007
Monday: Cold!
Sunday, February 18, 2007
Sunday: Fairly Sunny, Slightly Less Cold
Sort of overwhelmed by sightings in the crowds. One smile (which I tried to reciprocate) made all the difference.
Saturday, February 17, 2007
Saturday: Some Melting
Friday, February 16, 2007
Friday: Sunny, Still All Just a Sheet of Ice
Cat is ok for us to leave for the sitter, so we're on for the weekend.
Thursday, February 15, 2007
Thursday: It All Turned to Ice, Sunny, Howling Winds Now
Ice. Slip sliding away! And, do we get the car out by Saturday? Two day vacation, including a play in Da City.
Wednesday, February 14, 2007
Wednesday: Snow, Sleet, Rain, Awful
LL Bean duck boots (picture?), black Wrangler jeans, thin stripe blue shirt, black Carhartt thermal top & bottoms, black pouch briefs, usual Dickies socks. Duck Carhartt sweatshirt, nylon pants, bark Carhartt jacket, rotated thin leather police gloves with insulated police gloves, both from Quartermaster.
Tuesday, February 13, 2007
Tuesday: Very Cold, Windy, but Sunny
Bates military boots, navy plain front cords, medium navy stripe shirt, black Carhartt thermal top and bottoms, gray pouch briefs, usual Dickies socks.
Monday, February 12, 2007
Monday: Sunny, Cool, Windy
Redwing logger boots, Carhartt dark blue jeans, blue/white large plaid flannel shirt, lightweight neutral thermal T, blue/black stripe briefs found in a hotel drawer. usual Dickies socks.
Sick today, I only ventured out for lunch wearing Carhartt Arctic duck overpants instead of the jeans.
Worth venturing out if only for the sighting of some black logger boots with attitude (I wish mine -- pictured to the left -- matched the attitude).
Sunday, February 11, 2007
Sunday: Relatively Warmer, Partly Cloudy
Several good-looking older guys in cowboy hats (a rare sight around here) today at Wal-Mart, mostly with sneakers, but one guy with strange short but under-slung cowboy boots -- interesting.
Saturday, February 10, 2007
Saturday: Chilly, Less Wind
I may have seen briefly glimpsed lizard cowboy boots under dress pants at symphony.
Friday, February 09, 2007
Friday: Frigid, Fairly Sunny
I think I saw something today to blog about, but it's Friday and I just can't remember.
Wednesday, February 07, 2007
Thursday: Sun but Bitter Wind
Waiting in the wind for the bus tonight, cowboy boots worn by a guy who seemed to be enjoying them.
Wednesday: More Wind Than Predicted, Sunny and Cold
Tuesday, February 06, 2007
Tuesday: Really Cold and Sunny, But Not as Windy
Monday, February 05, 2007
Monday: Really Cold but Fairly Sunny
So nice to see so many men in ill-fitting pants (bet you're wearing long underwear, too!).
My Blog is two years old today (and I'm now in, gasp, my "late 50s"). I'm going to drop the WordPress version. I'm not going to worry if it takes me several days to update the Blogger/Blogspot version. No other changes foreseen.
This year, the poetry is better than last year's.
It's my life and it's sure fun
Another season of my life's begun
Another race I'm glad I get to run
Another chapter of my life I'm writin’
No I'm never gonna feel like this again
Time's rushin’ by me like the wind
Gotta grab each moment that I can
Cause I'm never gonna feel like this again

Sunday: Chilly & Sunny
Passed a car pulled over by a MSP officer. He was not wearing a jacket (see, I do look above the boots). "Brr!," said I. "He looked like he had plenty of personal insulation," said better half.
Saturday, February 03, 2007
Saturday: Dusting of Snow, Chilly but Clear
Several guys in nice logger boots in the supermarket, and a guy strutting in Carhartt duck thermal overalls, long sleeve T, cowboy hat, work boots.
Friday, February 02, 2007
Friday: Cloudy, Yet Another Bad Weather Forecast
I'm wiped. Arrival today of new Rocky zips to replace Rocky police boots. I need to figure out how to get them into donation status.

Early Thursday
Wednesday, January 31, 2007
Wednesday: More Pleasant than Predicted
Pleasant day for sightings, too.
Tuesday, January 30, 2007
Tuesday: In the Sun, Nice; In the Shade, Not Nice
Monday, January 29, 2007
Monday, Monday: Sunny but Cold
Walking up the street to buy my lunch, a guy on the sidewalk was putting on his insulated coveralls. I could have used the same.
Sunday, January 28, 2007
Sunday: Almost Balmy
Cowboy boot sighting (nice jeans, too) in an antique store (where I didn't buy a police hat).
Saturday, January 27, 2007
Saturday: Tolerable
I think it was a first in my standing outside a frequent Dunks watching guy footwear before a cultural event: cowboy boots, cream color, someone in my age range, blue jeans, it worked. Hmm...
Friday, January 26, 2007
Friday: Clear, The Big Chill
I got rides both to and from work, so no sightings at my favorite hole in the sidewalk. Sorry, but at wind chill at minus 10, it's ok for an aging guy to be a wimp. Besides, at that temperature, you know what would have been shrinking, anyway.
To warm me up when I got home, I watched this again.
Thursday, January 25, 2007
Thursday: Fairly Sunny but Getting Colder
I was planning to take a different bus today, but fate intervened, and I headed toward the usual one. Well, that meant passing the sidewalk site I observed yesterday. The cop wasn't there, but there was a third DPW guy -- slightly larger than 300 (man, I slowed down and got great view from the back). And, there was a fourth, at slightly under 200, whose clothes would more likely fit me. So, that was about 1100 pounds of construction manhood (and hard hats, and Wall's jackets, and sweatshirts, and jeans, and insulated coveralls) in a small space. If this gets to be much more tomorrow, I may not make it to work.
Wednesday, January 24, 2007
Wednesday: Partly Sunny and Tolerably Cold
It was a great day for men sighting, as I should have realized by the 900 pounds shared by the cop and two city workers digging up the sidewalk when I turned the corner on my way to work.
Tuesday, January 23, 2007
Tuesday: More Gray & Cold Than Expected
Monday, January 22, 2007
Monday: Flakey, Cloudy, Almost Bearibly
Sunday, January 21, 2007
Sunday: Early Flakes, Sun, Clouds, Chilling Wind
Several pairs of nice riding boots and one stunning pair of breeches in "The Cherry Orchard" -- oh, and Kate Burton was, as always, brilliant. Oh, and got home early enough for the 4th quarter, but, alas, the Pats just lost.
Saturday, January 20, 2007
Saturday: Early Flakes, Then Sunny & Very Chilly Winds
Lots of guys appropriately booted at Wal-Mart and the supermarket, and I wished I had got a better look at the guy with some kind of Chippewa heels and nicely stacked jeans.
Friday, January 19, 2007
Friday: Early Flakes, Then Sun, Almost Balmy
Frequently Fridays are days for smiles back and forth from men I do not know. I like it.
Thursday, January 18, 2007
Thursday: Sunny & OK
Wednesday, January 17, 2007
Wednesday: Cold as ...
Sudden drop in temperature today. Meeting day. Trying to balance how cold it was with self-presentation.
Got an anniversary coming up. Thinking about changes. Suggestions? What is the best for you two or three readers? E-mail.
Tuesday, January 16, 2007
Tuesday: Back to Work, Getting Colder
Wearing a hood is so much fun.
Well, it's a Carhartt duck arctic hood (not leather, rubber, or spandex), but it snaps on to your coat and keeps your head and ears warm, stays on your head, and doesn't mess your hair up -- and some men look back to see if they know you, because they can't tell from the back or side.

Monday (Avoiding Ice to the North): Rain & Fog
Went shopping for button-down dress shirts at Brooks Brothers dressed that way.
Sunday, January 14, 2007
Sunday: Gray, Cool, and Somewhat Wet
The concert was very enjoyable -- I'm a big fan of the pianoforte -- two on the stage was absolutely wonderful -- and the 72 year-old conductor was hot. Scared the nun to my left when the handle of the umbrella on my lap popped out during the performance -- not Freudian. And, while not a good day for boot sightings, a nice day for male facial hair.
Saturday, January 13, 2007
Saturday: Rain Clearing and 40's
Warm enough to have a MSP sighting without a jacket (even my normal boot obsession was drawn to the French blue shirt). In spite of being out and about a good part of the day and evening, not much else.
Friday, January 12, 2007
Friday: Clear and Warmer
Thursday, January 11, 2007
Thursday: Clear and Colder Than Yesterday
I'm continually amazed at how bright the yellow jackets are of the cops I see at work. Unfortunately, today the only sighting was from a window three stories above. The drunk construction workers wearing Carhartt jackets that passed me by at 5:10 at the bus stop were, however, priceless.
Wednesday, January 10, 2007
Wednesday: Clear and Even Colder
Tuesday, January 09, 2007
Tuesday: Clear and Colder
Today I got to relive 1876 (sometimes I think I'm that old) with its interesting ways of describing things: "He was a man of larger endowment and more varied attainments than was generally known."
Monday, January 08, 2007
Monday: Rain Day
Got to relive 1989 today.
Sunday, January 07, 2007
Sun-Day: 20 Degrees Colder but So Sunny
Cowboy boots, nice worn engineers, huge work boots at WalMart, and then nothing else.
Saturday Addendum: Cop Sighting
Saturday, January 06, 2007
Saturday: 70 Degrees
Changed into black bullhide Nocona boots (the TL's were giving me some slight trouble) and a white shirt (to look a little classier) for the evening out.
70 may not be the official temperature, but the car was displaying that several times today.
And, I cheated again by seeing cowboy boots (big ones -- well over size 12) in a boot store (needed Lexol; also bought a shirt on sale and a pair of larger Wranglers I can wear with long underwear; almost bought another belt, but decided I really do have too many).
Friday, January 05, 2007
Another Fried-day: Almost Balmy
Actually, it was a good Friday, and I enjoyed my bus ride home, too (dirty mind still very active).
Thursday, January 04, 2007
Early Thursday: Nice (and it's Jan.)
Wednesday, January 03, 2007
Wednesday: Nice Weather!
I think the boots I wear for work are somewhat jealous when I have those long stretches of cowboy boot wearing. Don't they understand their label numbers are higher?
Video (YouTube is having problems, this isn't always showing up even though I loaded it two days ago): Caramel Lucchese -- and, the non-boot stuff on this one is great -- think about a religious sect that thought equality between male and female was so sacred, it prohibited sex between genders.
Tuesday, January 02, 2007
Tuesday: Fairly Sunny & Windy
Back to work -- oh, I remember work.
Monday, January 01, 2007
New Years Day: Rain, Fog, Fairly Warm
I think I'm ready to order my next pair of cowboy boots (let's see how long the order will take). Sorry, guys, no poll. I've made up my mind.
Sunday, December 31, 2006
Sunday: Clear, Almost Warm
BestBuy: Roper boots and belt buckle on a guy in my age range.
Supermarket: Guy in a hurry in cowboy boots nearly wiped out when he saw me also booted. ;)
Video: Brown Lucchese
Saturday, December 30, 2006
Saturday: Snow
Friday, December 29, 2006
Friday: Sunny and Busy
Best day of the week off weather-wise, but I was busy. Nice treat, though, at my last attempt at local bargain cold-weather buying: only 2 or 3 inches taller than me but his upper arms were about the size of my thighs (and, unlike mine, muscular), and he was wearing full-quill yellow ostrich boots. I would have liked to asked him about his boots, but he was busy looking for 2XL Hanes briefs.
Got another boot video in the works (will post tomorrow). If you are an LJ friend or we've been in touch by email AND have a YouTube account, let me know.
Thursday, December 28, 2006
Thursday: Partly Sunny, Partly Chilly
Took along the brown Lucchese and got some videos of both in the works. Even changed my belt.
Sightings? The line at Wendy's was long and, unfortunately, the guy with tight Carhartts and work boots was behind me. Would have been nice if the crowd was unruly and someone had pushed us together. But, civility prevailed.
Remember guys, if you're aging like me and the cold is a problem, this is the time to stock up on long underwear, union suits, coats, ear muffs, etc.
Wednesday, December 27, 2006
Wednesday: Cloudy until Dusk
Shopping day today. Woofy guys in the first Bob's Stores.
Tuesday, December 26, 2006
The Day After: Rain Ended but Clouds Prevailed
Also, walked a couple of miles to start to work off some of that holiday eating. Took the "T" to walk in a different part of the metro area, using money on my Charlie Ticket (which I won't need after the end of the month since I'm switching to the new Charlie Card with a LinkPass [which is 50% off through work] for unlimited rides on both bus and subway). I think I'm confused about these changes as Charlie was when they changed the fares on him. All this, just to say I exchanged a few words about the weather with two MBTA/Transit Police. They have great caps, but, alas, neither were wearing them.
Monday, December 25, 2006
Christmas: Gradually Cloudy
Nice private Christmas with better half. Hope yours was good, too. Still eating, too!
Sunday, December 24, 2006
The Night Before: Sunny, Clear with a Cool Wind
Final food shopping and just driving around yielded a nice tan work boot sighting.
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
Saturday, December 23, 2006
Saturday: Rain Decreasing, Down Right Warm
My favorite supermarket for sightings did not disappoint: work boot and Carhartt daddies and other woofs with nicely trimmed facial hair. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a small package of frozen green beans (needed for Christmas dinner), so I decided to go to another one in a shopping center that just happens to have a Western store (safe, since it carries few boots in my size); took advantage of the 50% off sale on wallets and belt buckles. When the clerk asked about my boots and I told them what they were, he asked to see and feel the spur ridge. Very nice and properly done, he said. And, the other supermarket yielded a nice cowboy boot sighting as well.
Friday, December 22, 2006
Friday: Somewhat Overcast
Worked a half day, shopped a half day, finished decorating the tree a half day.
Thursday, December 21, 2006
Thursday: Cool but Really Nice
Nice day for work boot sightings. Some of them seemed to be new -- were Christmas presents opened early? -- oh, that was my dream.
Wednesday, December 20, 2006
Wednesday: Fairly Cool & Fairly Sunny
I seem to be back to normal, although there's still holiday stuff to do. I'm just glad at least one of my siblings isn't offended by late gifts. It's been a relief to be at work and not have to think about the undecorated tree (which is about 3 feet from me now). It'll at least get lights before Christmas.
Tuesday, December 19, 2006
Tuesday? Colder than Expected
Monday, December 18, 2006
Monday: And, Sunday
Today: Timberland PRO black work boots, black pleated pants, dark navy fine check pants, white T, black boxer briefs, usual Dickies socks. Also: Smooth leather cowboy boots (goat-like), could see the tops underneath his pants as he walked along.
Saturday, December 16, 2006
Saturday: Moderate and Sunny
Friday, December 15, 2006
Friday: Almost Balmy
Thursday, December 14, 2006
Thursday: Sunny and Mild
Wednesday, December 13, 2006
Hump Wednesday: Threat of Big Rain Wrong
Tuesday, December 12, 2006
Tuesday: Clear, Cool, Collected
Monday, December 11, 2006
Monday: Slightly Warm, Unexpected Rain
Sunday, December 10, 2006
Sunday: Warmer, Is This December (I'm Not Complaining)
While shopping, good day for facial hair sightings, work boot sightings less than I get at work, but not bad.
Saturday, December 09, 2006
Somewhat Warmer Saturday
I knew he was a boot guy when walked in the restaurant at lunch -- couldn't see them until I left -- engineers.
Friday, December 08, 2006
Fairly Frigid Friday
Carolina loggers (insulated), black Carhartt jeans, blue-green/white check thick weave Carhartt shirt, black Carhartt thermal top & bottom, also grey pouch briefs, usual Dickies socks.
Long underwear showing through a man's ripped jeans. Priceless.
Thursday, December 07, 2006
Thursday: Kinda Nice Weather-Wise
I was in meetings almost all day (one was enjoyable, the others tolerable), but I did manage at lunch to get a pretty good view of some cowboy boots I'd heard but not really seen or reported on before.
Wednesday, December 06, 2006
Wednesday: A Bit Mixed
Back at work and able to see the local construction guys get off work. Lucky me.
Tuesday, December 05, 2006
Tuesday: Cloudy, Cold, Then Clearing
The context of this entry is that I'm finally feeling better after getting hit with a cold last night. I stayed at home and wasn't sure I was going to get out.
Late in the morning I heard a noise in front of my door. I looked out and knew exactly what it was -- the best cure for the common cold -- something I ordered months ago -- something that would force me to go out for a walk ....
So, horsebutt chocolate and soft bone Olathe cowboy boots (that's what the invoice says), brown Wrangler jeans, navy Carhartt shirt, neutral Carhartt thermal shirt, gray pouch briefs, clean white Champion socks found in a hotel room drawer during my recent vacation (yep, I'm perverted).
I also lucked out by getting off the bus near a construction site when the workers were leaving for the day: a flood of work boots, Carhartt jeans, dungarees, jackets ....
Olathe video forthcoming. Shot in this setting.
Monday, December 04, 2006
Monday: 7-10am Snow, Then Sunny and Cold
Sunday, December 03, 2006
Sunday: Carhartt Coat Still in Use
Saturday, December 02, 2006
Saturday: I Guess it's not August Anymore
Big Carhartt duck Arctic coat tonight! Oh, that's right, I left my gloves in the pocket last spring.
Last night. Absolutely wonderful.
Friday, December 01, 2006
Friday: Cloudy and Warm, But Weather is Changing
When I turned the corner on the way to my bus stop, I thought I was going to be escorted by a motorcycle police escort, but, alas, he pulled out early. Wait! I'm supposed to be doing that!
Happy Friday to all.
