Somewhat Warmer Saturday
I knew he was a boot guy when walked in the restaurant at lunch -- couldn't see them until I left -- engineers.
Friday, December 08, 2006
Fairly Frigid Friday
Carolina loggers (insulated), black Carhartt jeans, blue-green/white check thick weave Carhartt shirt, black Carhartt thermal top & bottom, also grey pouch briefs, usual Dickies socks.
Long underwear showing through a man's ripped jeans. Priceless.

Thursday: Kinda Nice Weather-Wise
I was in meetings almost all day (one was enjoyable, the others tolerable), but I did manage at lunch to get a pretty good view of some cowboy boots I'd heard but not really seen or reported on before.
Wednesday, December 06, 2006
Wednesday: A Bit Mixed
Back at work and able to see the local construction guys get off work. Lucky me.

Tuesday: Cloudy, Cold, Then Clearing
The context of this entry is that I'm finally feeling better after getting hit with a cold last night. I stayed at home and wasn't sure I was going to get out.
Late in the morning I heard a noise in front of my door. I looked out and knew exactly what it was -- the best cure for the common cold -- something I ordered months ago -- something that would force me to go out for a walk ....
So, horsebutt chocolate and soft bone Olathe cowboy boots (that's what the invoice says), brown Wrangler jeans, navy Carhartt shirt, neutral Carhartt thermal shirt, gray pouch briefs, clean white Champion socks found in a hotel room drawer during my recent vacation (yep, I'm perverted).
I also lucked out by getting off the bus near a construction site when the workers were leaving for the day: a flood of work boots, Carhartt jeans, dungarees, jackets ....
Olathe video forthcoming. Shot in this setting.

Saturday: I Guess it's not August Anymore
Big Carhartt duck Arctic coat tonight! Oh, that's right, I left my gloves in the pocket last spring.
Last night. Absolutely wonderful.

Friday: Cloudy and Warm, But Weather is Changing
When I turned the corner on the way to my bus stop, I thought I was going to be escorted by a motorcycle police escort, but, alas, he pulled out early. Wait! I'm supposed to be doing that!
Happy Friday to all.
Thursday, November 30, 2006
Thursday: Slightly Sunny
I'm waiting for UPS to deliver a pair of boots and a pair of leather pants. Time to search for some new boots. Time to stop searching.
Wednesday, November 29, 2006
Wednesday: Another Dreary Day
Mid-morning audio, cowboy boots, I stared, he looked back, but I was back inside before it all registered.
Tuesday, November 28, 2006
Tuesday: Chilly, Damp, Needed Indian Food
Lots of sightings of those wonderful lime/yellow mid-weight police coats today. I think I want one. Boot sightings: few (overcast skies and old eyes don't make this easy). The Indian food was great!
Monday, November 27, 2006
Monday, Monday: Good but Still a Monday
Sunday, November 26, 2006
Sunday: Busy Day but Nice Weather
Saturday, November 25, 2006
Saturday: Beautiful 500+ Mile Journey
Sighting: cowboy boots at lunch.
I think I've had enough of "The Road and the Radio" for a while; it's good to be home.

Friday: Nice Day for a 600 Mile Journey

Tuesday: Clear and Slightly Chilly
Nice cowboy and combat boot sightings at the airport.
Monday, November 20, 2006
Monday: Chilly Fall Day
In addition to the historical visit in the video, I spent some time in two western wear/boot stores and an Army/Navy surplus store -- sightings, yes, but I feel like I'm cheating.
This is the last video for a while since family stuff will be taking more of my time. [Sighs of relief from several readers].

Sunday: Somewhat Overcast in the AM, Clearer in the PM, Jacket Appreciated
The route I took today through the lower Blue Ridge Mountains is always good for cowboy boot sightings, and today was not a disappointment. At lunch, there were three; at WalMart, two; getting gas, two (one with a cowboy hat) plus a biker harness boot. And, most men there seem to know that jeans are supposed to show, not hide, things.
Saturday, November 18, 2006
Saturday: Cooler but Nice
Boot sightings good: two cowboy boot sightings and a pair of well-worn tan Wellingtons worn over jeans. Men sightings were good too, including the short, stocky, cowboy-booted dad with a Wrigley Field sweatshirt and the muscular Wellington guy.
Friday, November 17, 2006
Friday: Cool but Beautiful
Tan Justin cowboy boots, brown Wrangler jeans, wide blue denim striped western shirt (a previously-owned one), black T & pouch briefs, usual Dickies socks. Yea, another video link.
Since most of the day was spent in the car, I didn't have many sightings. I did, however, notice that more construction guys were wearing logger-type work boots (that once were probably black or dark brown).
Thursday, November 16, 2006
Thursday: Rain, Gloom, Torrents, Then Sprinkles
I had fairly good sighting of Mass., NY, and NJ state policemen today before the torrents began. Driving in torrents isn't fun. And, I wasn't thinking of hip waders or rainsuits today. But it did cross my mind that if I had to get out of the car, scuba gear might have been nice.

Saturday: Perfect Fall Day (Warm - It's Nov. ???)
Worn work boot sightings: good. Men sightings: good (including one who was very affectionate with his wife or girlfriend. Diner: fun. Drive: I love New England. Not much else.

Friday: Warm & Clear
Cop looked at my boots and smiled; I smiled back.

Clearing and Warming Thursday (Or Was it the First of Two Fridays)
I promise this will be my last political post for a while (but if you email me, I'll be happy to elaborate), but what happened today in the Mass. Constitutional Convention (Con-Con) was important:
"The 109-87 vote to recess could deal a crushing blow to opponents of same-sex marriage looking to override the landmark court decision three years ago that put Massachusetts on the vanguard of gay rights."And, requiem aeternam and WOOF, Ed Bradley.
Wednesday, November 08, 2006
Wednesday: Rain, Rain, Rain
In spite of the rain, oh what a wonderful day!
Tuesday, November 07, 2006
Election Day: Warmer, Not So Bright
Things I love about living where I do:
- Having a Buddhist monk ahead of me voting
- Having both Democrat and Republican candidates for state representative both supporting gay marriage
- This time, not having to even consider Republicans on the ballot (I'm a registered Democrat, but I'm a thinking one)
- No matter who becomes our Governor, it won't be Romney (former bishop, current Massachusetts basher)
Oh, and saw several pairs of very tight jeans today.

Monday: Also Chilly and Clear, A Four Day Week in Reverse
At least I made it outside for the end of the 2:30-3:00 parade of construction guys leaving work.
Sunday, November 05, 2006
Sunday: Chilly and Clear
Reflected today on why something like that long-sleeve T, worn by another man, is important to me.
Full moon rose big and pink tonight; unfortunately, I think it's the "beaver" moon.
Saturday, November 04, 2006
Saturday: Chilly, Cloudier Than Expected
Some nice mutual admiration with a hot shaved head daddy several times in Wal-Mart (even exchanged words about the weather in the parking lot).
First sightings for the season:
- Guy in a Santa suit
- Guy in insulated coveralls
- Could it have been snow?
Friday, November 03, 2006
Friday: Crisp and Clear
It was a nice day for Friday smiles.
Thursday, November 02, 2006
hursday: Rainy, Then Clear and Chilly (Moon's Getting Bigger)
On the way home on the bus, a gender-unspecified with really tight jeans took a seat next to me. I suppose this person only sat by me because it was the only empty seat near the front of the bus (and, next to an old man who wasn't fat, smelly, or had a cane). People who confuse sexual orientation with gender identification amuse (and sometimes irritate) me (they are very different). Within a minute or so the gaydar was going crazy -- not just mine (which uses chromosomes, sexual organs, and distribution of body hair as criteria for maleness), but also his.

Monday: I Hate Monday's; However, The Weather Was Nice
Given my allergies to decaying fall leaves (don't get me wrong, I love New England, but the decaying leaves suck), I have trouble having sightings outside. Then again, the HVAC guys were back again in my office, up on a ladder, head above the ceiling tile, and I was looking above the work boots (started with that, of course) nearer the belt.
Sunday, October 29, 2006
Windy Sunday
Saturday, October 28, 2006
Saturday: Could Have Used an Ark
Changed into dry black Carhartt jeans, blue/black/tan plaid Carhartt shirt, black boxer briefs (boots, T, & socks were the same) for a "we're-getting-old party" (more fun than you might think).
Friday, October 27, 2006
It's Friday: Thank Buddha, Jesus, Mohammed, Zoroaster (Zarathushtra)!
Thursday, October 26, 2006
Thursday: Chilly
Changed into blue shirt and tie (I hate wearing ties [unless they're clip-ons] since I only wear them for wakes and funerals). The crowd at the wake did yield one cowboy boot sighting.
Wednesday, October 25, 2006
Wednesday: Very Cool, but Beautiful
Tuesday, October 24, 2006
Tuesday: Cool but Sunny
My Olathe's are back-ordered, but at least they are in my size.
Because of a bridge construction detour, there's been a police patrol on my way into work since last week. Unfortunately, the motorcops, who were there for the few days, have been replaced by regular cops. Oh, well, less to look at and more time to contemplate (sleep) on the bus.
And, sometimes a smile from a guy in cowboy boots is all you need to make one's day.
Monday, October 23, 2006
Monday: Cool, Some Rain, Some Sun
Actually saw, however briefly, cowboy boots heard on Friday.
Sunday, October 22, 2006
Sunday: Nice, Overcast, Rain to Come
It’s nice to be in a theater at a play with better half on one side and no one on the other side. Ah, leg room!
Saturday, October 21, 2006
Saturday: Very Cool & Clear
Friday, October 20, 2006
Friday: Gloomy, Then Rainy
The gloomy weather prevented a good view of what sounded like an interesting pair of boots. Had to be home early to be serviced by the cable guy. He arrived at the same time as the UPS man, whose delivery I can't wait to show off. This weekend better be better than the last one.
Thursday, October 19, 2006
Thursday: Cloudy Start, Sunny End
Wednesday, October 18, 2006
Hump Day: Variable Weather
Reason for the work boots getting this kind of feature is that someone I know (definitely straight) recognized them as Chippewa's.
Reminder to self: LAPD blue/black police shirt needs to be ordered.
Tuesday, October 17, 2006
Tuesday: Cloudy & Cool, Rain in the PM
Yet another five days compressed into four.
Monday, October 16, 2006
Monday: Cool and Sunny
A day of rest and some time in the sun seems to have helped.
Sunday, October 15, 2006
Sunday: Cool, Some Clouds
Saturday, October 14, 2006
Saturday: Sunny, Cool

Nocona black elephant and deerhide uppers cowboy boots (will wear them again tomorrow), black Wrangler jeans, [white shirt (picked out, not worn)], white T, gray pouch briefs, usual Dickies socks.
What started as leaf allergies turned out to be something else. Getting better! And, I finally opened the package which was supposed to arrive in March, arrived in June, and got sort of buried. Oh, yea!
Friday, October 13, 2006
Friday: Decaying Leaf Mold
Because of road construction, there were several motorcycle cops directing traffic in the morning from my bus stop and on for several blocks. I'm not sure they helped the traffic flow, but it was nice to see them trying.
Thursday, October 12, 2006
Thursday: Variable Weather
I have spent a lot of my life wondering which world I "fit" into: glbt/glbtisa or the whole. I fit into both, and to all the wonderful folks who helped me figure this out, thank you.
Wednesday, October 11, 2006
Wednesday: Partly Gloomy
Both cops today, short but big, well-worn paratrooper boots but well-tailored uniforms. #1, behind me at the deli, ordered two large chili's ....
Tuesday, October 10, 2006
Tuesday: Cool, Clear, Then Cloudy
The thing about a four-day work week is that it's really five days compressed into four.
Monday, October 09, 2006
Monday: Warmer, Nice Fall Day
Sunday, October 08, 2006
Beautiful Fall Day "On Golden Pond"
Another not-so-spectacular fall in New England (global warming?), but the weather was wonderful. No, we only drove by Squam Lake but did do our semi-annual stop at Lake Winnipesaukee.
Saturday, October 07, 2006
Saturday: Cool, Relxing, 12-Tone Harmony
Just the usual sightings of various work and biker boots (come on men, I need more leather), and in the parking garage on the way home, a nice pair of cowboy boots with a nice point.
Friday, October 06, 2006
Friday: Cool, Man! Nice! And, TGIF!
So wiped am I.
Thursday, October 05, 2006
Thursday: Very Nice, Even If it was an Early Day
Cowboy boots in the parking lot at work, apparently doing the boot meditation thing.
Looking forward to a real casual Friday and a three day weekend. I'm working too hard.
Wednesday, October 04, 2006
Hump Day: Nice Again
I was contemplating (really, I was half asleep) at the bus stop this morning. He passed me, and I looked back. Yes, the guy I've seen before wearing cowboy boots and casual business drag, was today wearing a tie and cowboy ropers.
Tuesday, October 03, 2006
Tuesday: Not Bad at All
Monday, October 02, 2006
Monday: Clouds in the AM, Clear in the PM
Sunday, October 01, 2006
Sunday: Rain, Rain, Rain
Lots of wet sneakers today, but one very rare (around here) sighting of tan ostrich cowboy boots in the mall.
I don't need another pair of cowboy boots. I don't need another pair of cowboy boots. I don't need another pair of cowboy boots. I don't need another pair of cowboy boots.

Tuesday: Nice and Nice Living in the Past
Today I was combing through late 19th century men's facial hair, or rather late 19th century photos of men, mostly with facial hair. I have lots on my other laptop, but this one will have to do now as an example.
Monday, September 25, 2006
Monday: Kinda Nice
After yesterday's sighting, I think I need to shut up for a while.
Sunday, September 24, 2006
Sunday: Bad Weather Prediction (Actually, A Nice Day)
Oh, and, silver-haired and mustached cop, I do hope you're a bottom and like shorter guys.
Oh, Clockner, stop thinking that.
Saturday, September 23, 2006
Saturday: Bad Weekend for Weather
In spite of the weather, it was a good boots-on-good-looking-mature-men day. A beautifully polished pair of harness boots and a wonderfully scruffed pair. Two guys in cowboy boots (including one who did a double-take on mine). Several Engineer boots. Work boots--lots.
Friday, September 22, 2006
Friday: A Great Day
Great day! Talk with one of my favorite co-worker carrying a DeWalt power drill , a big mutual wave to a favorite cop, some great smiles and "Hi's" -- Friday!
Thursday, September 21, 2006
Thursday: Cooler and Quite Nice
Wednesday, September 20, 2006
Wednesday: Absolutely Gorgeous Weather
Today I waited far too long at the bus stop. I did enjoy the weather, and it was a much needed contemplation time. A house painter with Sherwin-Williams brand painter pants (I want a pair) came up the sidewalk from a fenced-in yard just down the street to get some coffee at the convenience store at the corner. Then he walked back coffee cup in hand. About 10 minutes later he opened the gate with no coffee cup in hand and looked up the sidewalk in my direction; he stared. That lasted for about eight minutes, and then he went back into the yard. Just a really odd sighting. And, it didn't involve a "hi" or even eye contact. Sorry for such a long post. And, sorry for this post's title, but it was a very wonderful weather day.
Tuesday, September 19, 2006
Tuesday: Warmer Still
On my way from the bus stop into work, I ran into a guy my age who works near me. We've never introduced ourselves, never even really talked, but we always say "hi" or smile at each other. It was a hearty "hi" this time. The fact that he works facilities and I, well, let's just say I sometimes have to look professional, doesn't matter. He wears a wedding ring; I don't, but we're both married. There's something about being this age I really like.
Monday, September 18, 2006
Monday: Warmer Than It's Been
Sunday, September 17, 2006
Sunday: Beautiful, Fall is Coming
Driving through the countryside yielded lots of biker sightings (including the first sighting this fall of a guy in biker chaps) but unfortunately most biker boot sightings were fleeting. Yet there were a lot of work boot sightings while shopping. And, the weather was very nice.
Saturday, September 16, 2006
Saturday: Kind of Beautiful
Boot sightings: I feel like I cheated since they were in a Western wear store where I bought a replacement for a lost belt (which I will probably find tomorrow).
Friday, September 15, 2006
Friday: All Sorts of Weather, But No Rain
A good day (among other things was introduced to someone with a complimentary statement about both my age and sexuality), but what a week! Longing for the cowboy boots....
Thursday, September 14, 2006
Thursday: Gray Skies, Then Rain
On the way to work: A closed road for construction (in Mass. that means police on either end) allowed some nice sightings of construction guys doing manly things (including one that provided a nice rear view while pulling up his jeans) and a very woofy tow guy doing his thing. These views were only allowed to those walking or riding bicycles. I was one of the former.
Then, on morning break, walking through a parking lot and finding a pinch pin clutch. Given the location, most likely a cop's. The smallest things delight me. Besides, I'm missing one of mine.
Wednesday, September 13, 2006
Wednesday: Yet Another Nice Day
Tuesday, September 12, 2006
Tuesday: Crisply Fall-ish & Nice
Today's post title is the worst yet.
Monday, September 11, 2006
Monday: Quite Cool, Fairly Sunny
Too unawake on the bus to wonder what the young stud walking on the street was listening to on his iPod (is there a gay version?) that caused him to keep adjusting his crotch. Too hungry to really appreciate the two local cops in great shape and in crisp, tight uniforms paying for their Chinese food when I really wanted to order mine.
Sunday, September 10, 2006
Sunday: Turned Out Very Nice
Addendum: two pairs of riding boots with English spurs in the play (go here, click on Ladew's History, go to the last picture, look, and then read the names in his guest book).
Saturday, September 09, 2006
Saturday: Nice
Favorite supermarket didn't fail in work boot sightings, and there was a bonus military boot sighting.
Friday: Good Weather, Long Day, Double Post
Around 6PM, changed into: Chippewa Crazy Horse work boots, black Levi 501's (remembered Aug. 23, 2006, reminder to self about key holder and hanky), tan shirt, gray pouch briefs, same socks (the one part of my body that rarely gives me trouble in social situations).
Thursday, September 07, 2006
Early Thursday: At Least the Weather was Nice
No post-worthy sightings, but the same/old-same/old sightings aren't bad either.
Wednesday, September 06, 2006
Wednesday: Cloudy but Nice
Tuesday, September 05, 2006
Tuesday: Kind of Cloudy
Before I went to bed last night, I packed away all of my white shoes, pants, and gloves.
Monday, September 04, 2006
Labor Day: Very Nice
Lunch at a favorite diner allowed one cowboy boot sighting (and a nice brief acknowledgement of seeing mine) and several harness and engineer boot sightings. Oh, and good food, too. Oh, yes, and the manager looks like Ray Harley.
Stumbling into a small town Labor Day parade allowed sightings of local police (in Class A and B uniforms), some sheriffs, and a fireman playing with his hose (unfortunately, he wasn't wearing fire gear below his waist.

Sunday, September 03, 2006
Sunday: Warmer with Rain
Saturday, September 02, 2006
Saturday: Cloudy and Cool
Several work boots in my favorite supermarket (one of these days I'll remember to have my phone with me so I can take a picture).
Friday, September 01, 2006
Friday (Yee-Haw!): Nice Day
What a week. I am so wiped.
