Half-day off to renew my driver's license. Well, I've got a good sense of humor, so 1 hour and 20 minutes waiting for my number to be called was actually kind of fun. No boot sightings, alas, but not only did I suddenly become the one waiting who explained the process to new-comers (and usually I barely speak to my friends, much less to strangers) (ending by saying,"I'm not employed by the Registry") but B296 and B297, who preceded me, were good-looking guys. Best is that I was able to keep my photo of 8 years ago, meaning I'll still look 50 when I'm 63.

Nothing like a visit to the newly opened first Bass Pro store in New England (I think) to have a number of work, logger, and hiking boot sightings, and, of course, jeans in various degrees of tightness. And, one only had to breathe normally to inhale testosterone, given the large number of males (of various sizes and shapes) in the store. Overheard conversations included a wife trying to get her husband to buy a union suit (he looked at the buttons on the rear and said, "no") and two straight guys talking about boot choices: "I'm into all leather."

As someone privately pointed out about yesterday's post, I forgot one piece of clothing that I wear quite often (not just in winter) and certainly wore yesterday: tight black leather gloves.

The boots did elicit a second look from a guy from an electrical contracting company, and I did try to catch his eye by smiling, but it was his turn to order from a very strange order-taker guy at Wendy's.

Sunday: Cloudy, Late Drizzle

Sighting: nice brown cowboy boots going into the supermarket as I came out.

Saturday: Much Nicer than Predicted

Brown Boulet buckaroo cowboy boots, Wrangler blue jeans, Carhartt western denim shirt, brown Wrangler (red/black/brown/white) logo long-sleeve T, black briefs, usual Dickies socks.

Sighting: Excellent pair of fairly brown loggers on an excellent piece of young manhood. Nice experience in a western wear store: big dad trying to tell his 5-year old son that the hat son is trying on is way too big.

Friday: Early Flurries, Clouds, then Sun; Always a Cold Wind

Somewhat surprised, but tan work boots on all sorts of men (from a couple of big lugs to a couple of frail old -- yes, older than me) men were today's top sightings.

Well, at 11, on the way back from a concert (changed into the Double H uniform boots), sighting of two members of the family (on their way home from a visit to a bar), both wearing cowboy boots!

Two breaks got two different endings of construction workers leaving with various colors, conditions, and heights (my Chips were higher) of construction boots.

Nice boot sightings this morning, unfortunately both in shadows: large motorcycle cop with taller boots than what I usually see, and, later, cowboy boots (and hat) with a suit.
