Nice use-it-or-lose-it vacation day. Found a store stocked with (good) high-priced (bad) Carhartt gear. Weather generally good. Next video on its way. Half-priced book of Margaret Fuller's letters bought. Got cruised and worked my way out of it both gracefully and like a man.

Thursday: Dreary, Weather Changing for the Worse

Weather Spirit rubber boots (ok, I woke up sick with the cold I've been fighting about 3am, so I stayed home sick, but I did have to go out for a while, and the threat of rain led me to these seldom-worn boots), black Carhartt dungarees, gray long-sleeve Carhartt T, black briefs, usual Dickies socks. Also Carhartt duck jacket and yellow slicker. That and the umbrella assured that there was almost no rain.

Sightings of a pair of nicely worn and oiled work boots and not-your-usual-crappy military boots on a skinhead (his camo, hat & shorts were color-coordinated, too).

Sitting at the window counter eating a beef burger, listening to two young guys talking about being ("what it means to be") vegetarians, and a guy who looks like George Michael walks by, with his pants zipper unzipped. ... Hm... Maybe... Could be...

Various sightings: the best had to do with some work boots on a Carhartt coat-wearing bubba (well, as much of a bubba as you can have in Massachusetts) who emptied the trash from the passenger side of his card bending over. He also was checking me out.

Off from work. Went to the mall. Didn't buy anything except lunch, but did enjoy the construction workers all over the place.

The biggest woof, however, goes to the cub (with tan work boots) I shared a bus and subway ride with.

More Than a Hump Day: Still Cold but not Deadly

Tuesday: Wind Chill Deadly

Chippewa Crazy Horse work boots, black Carhartt jeans, blue-green/white check thick weave Carhartt shirt, funny green polypropylene top & bottoms, white pouch briefs, usual Dickies socks, Carhartt Arctic flannel-lined over pants. Carhartt brown colored zip sweat shirt. Bark extreme Arctic Carhartt jacket. On the way home, thin police gloves under (under ... I like the way that sounds) furry leather police gloves. Oh yea, Carhartt metal roller belt.

In spite of the weather, the day was extremely warm. Started out with talk on the news about long underwear and later talk at work about ski masks (I have one of those somewhere, but I'm more likely to find a spandex, latex, or rubber one if I went looking). Then there was a hot looking daddy-type (probably younger than me, but who's counting the years) in cowboy boots and cowboy hat (straw -- felt, black, would have been my choice) and another pair of cowboy boots at work. Carhartt Arctic flannel-lined coveralls. Not to mention Chris Cagle photos from the Yahoo group "hotcowboys."

And, Word spell-checker at work, unlike yesterday, wasn't turned to Spanish instead of English-U.S. today!

Square toe cowboy boot sighting while leaving the mall. Conventional cowboy boot sighting in the supermarket (guy was good-looking, too!). Several pairs of serious black logger boots on seriously woofy men.

Warm enough for a NH trooper to wear a short sleeve shirt. Well, not that warm, but he thought it was.

Friday: Very Early Snow Turning to Cold Blowing Rain

L.L. Bean boots (complimented on them), navy thick wale cords, thick blue stripe shirt, black thermal Carhartt tops & bottoms, grey pouch briefs, previously worn socks (need to wash socks tomorrow).

Really lousy weather, although we didn't have to shovel today. Wet pants. Rubber rain gear. Busy for a Friday, but I am observant.
